What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a substitute for a natural root and is usually screw or cylinder shaped. Almost all dental implants in use today are made from titanium or titanium alloy, materials that have been shown over many years to be well tolerated by bone.

Detailed printed information on dental implants can be downloaded from the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI) website. Alternatively, a comprehensive interactive video addressing many of the common questions asked by patients considering this form of treatment has been provided.

Can I get it done here in the UK?

Dr Philip Bennett is a highly qualified dental practitioner who has made dental implant technology the focal point of his interest, and lectures both nationally and internationally on the subject.

In 2005, Dr Bennett began a two year rein as President of the ADI, and is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Philip lectures for the Royal College of Surgeons Diploma Course. He is a member of the editorial board for Implant and Aesthetic Dentistry and is one of Dentsply Friadent's educators for Ankylos. There is no doubt that Philip is one of the country's leading practitioners of dental implant technology.
